Neighbourhood

The ideal location of Studio 22 means you are perfectly located to enjoy all Rye has to offer. Rye is a picturesque medieval town on the Sussex/Kent border., steeped in history.

Fabulous restaurants, pubs, cafes, independent shops and places of interest all within minutes of the property. I always highly recommend a visit to Rye Heritage Centre to get your bearings and learn about the town and its past.

Watch the town's, 'Sound and Light Show' and develop a good understanding of the town's history and inhabitants. For light entertainment, visit the 'Old Penny Pier Exhibition' and watch or play the old automated machines.

Rye and Dungeness Nature Reserves are close by and worth a visit if you enjoy local wildlife and walking. You are spoilt for choices if wishing to visit a beach, Camber sands is only 3 miles away and for shingle beaches you have Winchelsea beach and Pett Level all within a 10 minute drive.

The seaside town of Hastings is around a thirty minute drive away and here you can get main line trains to London, if you wish to explore the capital for a day. If you fancy a day trip to the continent , the Eurostar can be picked up from Ashford International station and trains to Paris, Lille and Brugge are available. Alternatively, the ferries run from Dover, just 45 minutes away or the Channel Tunnel from Folkestone, a 45 minute drive.

There is always something happening, Scallop Festival in February, Jazz festival in August, Maritime festival in August, Music and Art Festival in September, Wild boar festival in October, Rye bonfire in November, a torch lit procession and spectacular firework display and Rye Christmas festival in December. So much to do and see, you will need to visit more than once!
